There are many top Nollywood star actors and actresses who were very much active in the Nigerian movie industry, ruling the screen in the 1990s and early 2000s but had to take a long break from acting to pursue other things.

Many of these Nollywood actors and actresses who ruled the movie industry about two decades ago are no more active as they used to be as new set of actors and actresses have taken over the industry.

Things common among them are Marriage, Relocation of abroad and born again.

At a time, the hottest Nollywood actress in the 1990s, Liz Benson stopped acting after she became an Evangelist and got married to Bishop Great Ameye in 2009. Liz Benson didn’t act for over 8 years. She only returned to Nollywood a few years ago and has been featuring in new Nollywood movies.

Regina Askia was another hot Nollywood actress in the 1990s who stopped acting after her marriage to Rudolph ‘Rudy’ Williams and relocated to New York, USA in the early 2000s.
