The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has announced Mazi Chika Edoziem as its new leader.

IPOB said Edoziem would pilot its affairs until its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is released.

A statement by the group’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, said Edoziem would relinquish the leadership role to Kanu when he is released.

The statement reads partly: “For the avoidance of doubt, the Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra (DOS), headed by Mazi Chika Edoziem, is at the helm of affairs of the Biafra movement; whenever our leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU comes out, he hands over IPOB structure back to him.”

Edoziem is believed to be the deputy leader of IPOB.

Kanu is currently locked up by the Department of State Services, DSS.

The DSS has held the IPOB leader since he was re-arrested and repatriated from Kenya in 2011.

We the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the command and leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu condemn the useless and fabricated media propaganda and blackmail from some media houses that IPOB has another or acting leader replacing our indefatigable liberator and prophet Mazi Nnamdi KANU. Those peddling this kind lies are those criminals who zoo gutter media are publishing this to confuse the weak minded people. 

We want everybody to bear in mind that Mazi Chika Edoziem is the head of IPOB Directorate of State, DOS and not IPOB Acting Leader. The was never a time that Emma Powerful the Publicity Secretary of IPOB issued any statement purporting that our Leader had been replaced by Mazi Chika Edoziem as IPOB Acting Leader. The said statement was the handiwork of mischievous elements bent on causing confusion in IPOB.

Simon Ekpa since you initiated “Autopilotism”, I have just written about your evil plans once on my timeline and then ceased thinking that you will make a U-Turn having seen some of my colleagues dishing it hard on you but instead you chose to destroy DOS before you repent.

Now! listen. I won’t allow you destroy the bone of IPOB with your fallacious broadcasts and messages therefore, I would want you to cease the attacks with immediate effect or I enjoin my colleagues to pull you down to the level of where everybody takes you as a mere “commoner”.

Mr. CHIKA Edoziem of IPOB and all other principal officers live in diaspora. Know this now. And from there issue orders that make things difficult for those at home. Not that they command majority of the masses; rather they use death threat to accomplish their demand. Make this optional and you will discover they are on their own … the footballer-turned spectator.

Nigeria does not have up to two million fighting-force soldiers but Ipob has always boasted of two million men … much more than Nigeria. And with such number, can easily storm Abuja and effect Kanu’s release.

Their recent oder to lockdown Biafraland in protest to Kanu’s incarceration is a misplaced concern. Because such economic emasculation of Igboland is not to the detriment of Nigeria but the Biafrans. For a snail that covers its face with scale starves itself.

The plan of Nigeria is to destroy Igboland by any means. Ipob’s tactics are some of such that abet this contrivance. Understand that if Alaigbo burns and the rest of Nigeria remains stable would make Buhari happy and even pray to fuel the conflagration. Never forget he once opined that in so far as oil flows from Niger Delta, the Dot Nation can, into the Niger River submerge.

Destruction of Igbo commercial life is not in the interest of our people because the very promulgators of that are not resident at home. How does it concern them. Already anger and discontent are brewing among our business men and women against such lockdown. Let us advise ipob to have a rethink. Or if indeed they mean business, with their two million men on ground, they can devastate oil rigs and other installations as well as storm seaports and airports. This will bring Nigeria down and compel government to release Kanu unconditionally. But if they ignore principal targets and face innocent Biafrans that just manage their lives, let them anticipate, one day, a people’s spring.

The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra want to commend all hard-core IPOB family members who thronged both the Abuja and the Umuahia High Courts on the 18th and 19th of January 2022 respectively to show solidarity and support to our Supreme leader Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in our continuing legal battle against the injustice that has been and still being committed against him by the Nigerian Government. 

The Directorate also specially commend and congratulate our legal teams for their sterling job at the Abuja and Umuahia High Courts. 

I commend our Media warriors in all the platforms; Print, Radio, TV, and Social Media, our prayer warriors of all faith, the Judeo-Christians and all their clergy, the Odinana adherents and most especially friends of the Indigenous People of Biafra and lovers of freedom for your unwavering efforts and support to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. 

Yesterday’s Ruling at the Umuahia High Court on the Fundamental Human Rights case before it was a very brave act of a very courageous Judge and is a sign that victory for our leader and for the Biafran people is around the corner. The Significance and ripple effect of that Court Judgement will manifest itself in the day, weeks and months ahead. We are confident that CHUKWUOKIKEABIAMA is on the throne and in complete control of our affairs and efforts to extricate ourselves from an unjust cohabitation in the contraption called the Zoological Fulani Republic of Nigeria. CHUKWUOKIKE shall surely glorify His name. 

I wish to however, remind all of us that the battle is not yet over. There shall therefore be no complacency on our part individually and collectively, no letting down of our guards rather we must double our efforts, remain dedicated, focused and committed to our fundamental principles and objectives but above all remain discipline and loyal to the Supreme leader of this wonderful IPOB family.
